Bobby from Boston

My eyes fell on this face and I thought of the picture below by Roy DeCarava. I simply loved the expression in Bobby's eyes and the possible stories behind each wrinkle.

I didn't know Bobby was man behind Bobby from Boston when I took this picture (when I introduced myself that night, he said, "I'm Bobby"). One goes to Bobby's for absolutely fantastic vintage clothing. Think mint condition vintage blue satin YSL pumps.

A week after taking this picture, I went to Bobby's and there he was. He said simply, "Why hello there!" and I responded, "It's you!" What a face.

Ky in Cambridge

I was on the redline coming into town when I noticed Ki. I stared for quite a while before going over to ask if I could take a picture. Though we did have a go on the train, it turned out that we were both getting off at the same stop.

...and I found them at Luna Boston. These bracelets are my obsession du jour. They look so rebellious when worn with a suit.

Some looks from Copenhagen Street Style

All three of these looks are the works of Copenhagen Street Style. I like the whimsy in each of these outfits. Søren has a keen eye as a photographer. He uses a D700; I definitely have camera envy

So here's how it went. Imagine you decide to start playing soccer. You hear that there are few good soccer players out there and you want to meet with one of them. By chance, you're going to be in the same location as say, David Beckham. You think, oh, well, I should contact this Beckham guy. Maybe he could give me some pointers. You email him, and he responds saying, sure, when you get in town, let's meet up.

Søren and Jenny were great. Stylish as one would expect and very down to earth. They showed me around their favorite haunts. Since they work as a team, it was great to hear their point of view, marketing strategies, and strategies for style hunting. Watch out Barcelona and Paris! CPH is edging up there as one of my favorite cities.

I'm unsure if the coat is hers or his. Either way, oversize clothing was everywhere in CPH.

Everyone (Europeans that is) headed west to NY Fashion Week. I've headed East to Denmark. I'll be in Copenhagen and then in Aarhus for a few more days. Be back to BOS on Sunday. Until then.

Back to SoWa

I spent every Sunday in the month of August at the SoWa open market helping out a friend. I drank plenty of cranberry and lavender lemonade from Gilson's stand, Nathan from one of the farms stands came to save me one of his delicious peaches every Sunday. I finally met the ladies of JP Dame, and I got to take some great pics. I would do a more extensive post (I have pictures to share from some of the jewlery designers that I met), alas I'm having wireless issues...

Jenna is in the top picture. Sneaks are from keds, shorts Urban Outfitters, bag H&M, top Forever21, the necklace is vintage.
Serene is in the second picture. The top and scarf are from Agnes B.. The skirt is from Mango and the schoes are BCBG

Not a complete croc of...

...well, you know. Some say crocs are fashionable and comfortable. Personally, they offend my eyes and always seem to sink one's outfit to the lowest depths of fuddy-duddyness. That said, crocs are doing some good. Check out the post on New Brahmin.

Effie and Dante....Church Street, Cambridge

The day before I took this picture, I was talking with dreamecho of how I'd love to take pictures of Effie. The next day, I met up briefly with Liana of New Brahmin to checkout the newly opened Passport in Harvard Square. Liana was walking me to Church Street when we ran into Effie, who was recently featured in Stuff@Night.

Some people wear vintage and look like they stepped off a period movie set, but Effie looks like herself, refreshing as a summer breeze and just as lovely.
