Susan...Chestnut Street, Boston

Susan is the Manager at Koo de Kir. Her dress is Banana Republic and her belt is vintage Escada.

Now, if you haven't been to Koo de Kir (on Chestnut Street in Beacon Hill), you must absolutely go check it out. It's my no brainer one-stop store for buying presents for loved ones. I went in there, looked around, got distracted by some very lovely necklaces, by the glass and beverage dispenser and by....well, just about by everything in the store. I'm on a shopping moratorium--reigning in the belt and all--so no prezzies for me. My friends, however, whose birthdays are coming up, are going to be quite happy with their gifts.

Susan was kind enough to model the umbrella below, which can be purchased on their website (under fun and games).

Shoes at Saks.....Part 1

I went to the Men of Style event at Saks' yesterday. These are a few of the shoes I spied.

Young and carefree.....Dot ave, Dorchester

I saw Stephanie as I walked to the T this morning. As I approached her, the wind blew, causing her skirt to ripple against her legs. I just had to smile at the youthful energy of her outfit.

The jacket and skirt are from H&M, the sneaks are Pumas.

Kristen Arzt

I attended the Emerson Spring Fashion Show last week. Freshman, Kristen Arzt (above) caught my attention as soon as her first model came down the runway. After the show, we chatted a bit and I took some pictures of some of her models, including Livy. The next day, I took a walk in the South End, and there were Livy and Ariel, who happen to be Kristen's roommates. Below are two looks from Kristen's show. Oh, Kristen made she's wearing in the picture above.

No crystal stair

It's been a rough few months and continues to be. I've been stressed, blah, blah, blah. About three weeks ago, I ran into an old high school friend. I told him how I felt that my light was fading, and he said: Oh, don't worry it'll go out!

I didn't quite know what to say, my mouth opened and closed like a guppy. I had been looking for reassuring and trite words, like: Tini, man who catch fly with chopstick accomplish anything. So I tell him I'm not feeling motivated, and he simply repeats more of the same mantra: don't worry, it's life. You know, troughs and valleys and all that.

Though I see the relevance, that we all have our ups and downs, wax on, wax off, the conversation wasn't at all helpful. I'm not hating though; I've known him since he was 13.

So, I'm sharing some inspiration and amusing sayings that I've found online.

This one is from Sophie Calle's exhibit. No break-up here, though.

In a very serious tone, my sister repeated the above phrase to me one day. I hadn't laughed so hard in a long time. It's irreverent, but you know, it was the nicest thing anyone had said to me in a long time.

Ariel and Livy........Washington Street, Boston

Spring is really here. After a weekend of studying, I strolled through the South End and bumped into Livy ( on right) on Washington Street. I had taken pictures of Livy at the Emerson College Spring Fashion Show the night before. More pictures to follow on the fashion show front. Back to more studying!

When too many is just right....Nancy from Garage Sale, Waltham St. Boston

I went into Garage Sale, a consignment shop, on Waltham Street in the South End for the first time. Nancy has some really cool and affordable paintings.

I've been collecting pieces of art work over the past few years. Granted, the paintings and such have all been under $200, but I figured I had to start somewhere. I've put off making purchases for obvious reasons, but when we're all on more solid ground, I'm heading over to Garage Sale to buy me some art!

All of Nancy's necklaces are from JCREW. I have it in mind to reinterpret her look with some of my own necklaces.
