Color in Århus

This picture is a left over from my visit to Denmark. I'm digging her coat. I think it may be Zara.

Ruffled 'round town

In going along with New Brahmin's recent post on ruffles, I’d like to offer this picture to ruffle your day.

I’m always trying to come up with fun, yet simple outfits for running errands or for a day of studying at the library. Whenever I have to run errands, I resist looking frowzy. It would be much easier to leave the house wearing my yoga pants and a sweatshirt, but I figure, as a preacher of style, I sin whenever I leave the house looking unkempt. However, I’m reluctant to run said errands all dolled up or wearing high heels as I need to wear shoes that will allow a sprint to intercept the meter maid to prevent yet another parking ticket. As always, I try to dress as if I will run into an ex or as if I'm going to meet up with the love of my life, or as the French would say, l'homme de ma vie. Laurie’s outfit is a great inspiration.

You can’t tell from this picture, but Laurie’s sneakers have a slight sheen to them.

The coat is from Anthropologie. The clutch is vintage.

Lucas and Mischa

See Lucas

See Mischa

See Lucas and Mischa.

The best thing about the style hunting are the people who stop you in your tracks. Lucas and Mischa did just that. They were loads of fun to shoot too. Both are students at RISD. To steal Rachel Zoe's words: Love!...or was it Die! In either case, these two were awesome.

On Lucas: Light gray sweat shirt; Top Man. Darker gray sweater b. son; jeans Uniqlo; sneakers Rubber Duck.

On Mischa: Vintage 80's Levi's; vintage Dior sweater.

Change is afoot

You've undoubtedly noticed that I'm posting less. In the past few months, I've posted several pictures about which I wasn't 100% percent crazy. After much counseling from several blogger friends, I've come to the conclusion that less is more. Granted, this axiom excludes, shoes, chocolate bread pudding, my friend Keri's mac&cheese, lip gloss...well, you get the point. In the case of the BBC, less will be more. I vow to seek our new styles and new neighborhoods and boldly go where no style hunter has gone before....well, not really, but you get the drift.

It may sound like, oh, she's doing less work...but in reality it means that I'll be doing more work to find you truly stylish people. So, in the spirit of change that is sweeping our nation, if not the world, I plan to post about 3 times a week. I hope you will continue to enjoy the BBC. In the meantime, dress the body you have and not the one you want and remember to pay attention to your proportions.

Be well. Dress well.
