After the storm...Somerville and Boston

Joe in Union Square: I really like this silhouette and the contrast of the plaid hat and scarf (click on picture for a larger view).

Add tweed and a belt with a bit of bad @ss.

Inspiration for winter dressing

My plans to go style hunting today has been foiled by the snow and by an urgent need to destress at home after finals. While I'll go style hunting tomorrow, here is some inspiration from Street Clash.

The cold front is here

A bit appropriate given the cold front.

How have you been dressing these past few days? My wardrobe becomes very limited when we hit the deep freeze. Do I look cute or do I freeze? I'm from the Caribbean, so I'm always about warmth and all about layering...to excess perhaps.

Today for example I'm in wide leg black trousers, black v-neck sweater over a long sleeved black T-shirt, Indian green and gold scarf around neck. Under the trousers, I've got tights, long undies, and two pairs of socks (including my Alpaca socks). I'm wearing some Zulu bangles just to keep things interesting....but man, it takes work to look chic when it's so cold!

What are you wearing? Would love to hear your thoughts.

The last of South Africa: V&A Waterfront, Cape Town

On a day like today, where there is snow and ice on the ground, and it's 34 degrees outside, it's nice to know that somewhere in the world, it's warm.

Shoe in the New Year: London style

Personally, I enjoy choosing a pair of every day shoes/heels in an unexpected color that is still neutral. In my mind, green, purple, gray, and salmon are very neutral colors that seem to go with almost everything.
