Back to CPH

Can you tell that I'm getting a little nostalgic for CPH. I was going through pictures when I came across these two. I saw the gentlemen in the white pants walking down the street. I made a mad dash to position myself to take a picture of him. (Definitely click on the picture for a closeup of his shoes. Those Danish men wear great shoes). His friend, in the plaid shirt, saw me and said, "What about me?" What else could I do but snap, snap away at him.

I haven't done a style report for CPH, but here's a quick primer. Plaid is in. Plaid shirts and especially plaid scarves. The latter is a huge trend. Everybody and their mama wears scarves in Denmark. The young do the trendy plaid, the older folk (such as with the gentlemen in the white trousers) do it in a more conservative manner....wow, come to think of it, I got a scarf in the exact same fabric and color as the gentlemen in the plaid shirt. Hmmm. Back to style report. Drop crotch pants are in, so are oversize jackets....nothing too different really from what's going on in NYC or in London/Paris.

I'm renting a camera from Calumet in Cambridge. Hopefully, I'll have some great Boston pictures to share with you next week. In the meantime, dress well and prosper.

In Copenhagen...in a black mood

In Copenhagen...bike one, bike all

I don't know the statistics, but it seemed that there were more bikes than cars on the Danish roads.

Some looks from Copenhagen Street Style

All three of these looks are the works of Copenhagen Street Style. I like the whimsy in each of these outfits. Søren has a keen eye as a photographer. He uses a D700; I definitely have camera envy

So here's how it went. Imagine you decide to start playing soccer. You hear that there are few good soccer players out there and you want to meet with one of them. By chance, you're going to be in the same location as say, David Beckham. You think, oh, well, I should contact this Beckham guy. Maybe he could give me some pointers. You email him, and he responds saying, sure, when you get in town, let's meet up.

Søren and Jenny were great. Stylish as one would expect and very down to earth. They showed me around their favorite haunts. Since they work as a team, it was great to hear their point of view, marketing strategies, and strategies for style hunting. Watch out Barcelona and Paris! CPH is edging up there as one of my favorite cities.

In Copenhagen...the lovely couple

I'm unsure if the coat is hers or his. Either way, oversize clothing was everywhere in CPH.
