Who and wear

Au secours! Besides my usual hunts here in town (Cambridge and Boston), every time I venture into suburbia I come away with no pics. Yesterday, I spent much of the afternoon in Malden, Wakefield, Reading and Melrose looking for chic people....There was no almost no one around. Do suburbanites spend Sundays at home playing catch with the kids? Why aren't they not on Main Street people watching and drinking a soda-pop?

Though I have a great week of pictures to share with you, I need help. Where should I go in the future? What town should I visit? Are you and your friends chic and groovy? Should I come to you or your town? Help!

Union Square Somerville. We Somervillains are vain and think about how we look way too much.

But we also spend a lot of time in Cambridge.

Nice blog!

Not the suburbs in either case, but:

Ditto-ing the Union Square -- there's even a farmer's market there Saturday mornings. Also Davis, of course. Have you been to Poor Little Rich Girl since it moved into the larger space? It's fantastic.

I've been to the "Poor little rich girl" space on Elm Street. I'm in Davis a fair bit, so we'll see. I never know when and where the pics will come from. Thanks for the suggestions

I often wish I'd run into you - would love to end up on your blog, but unfortunately don't seem to ever be in the right place at the right time, hehe.

And I went to Poor Little Rich Girl for the first time in a while to consign stuff lately, but alas didn't get to see the illustrious Martini there either, hehe.

Great blog though! Love it, keep up the great posts :)

Hehe ok, thanks Martini! That sounds great!

And yeah, not talking about suburbs but... generally I tend to hang around Newbury, Back Bay, South End, Central Square, Harvard/Porter/Cambridge/Davis/Allston and there are some stylish people around. :)

There's also the South End Open Market some Saturdays which tends to attract an eclectic crowd. Maybe you could pop over to Jamaica Plain sometime too, I've seen some interesting looks around there too (and while you're there, you can pop into 40 South Street for vintage and Salmagundi for killer accessories! The staff at Salmagundi there have great style and are lovely, too.)

Normally I might feel like I was 'cheating' a little if I emailed you, partially cos it wouldn't be like you 'found' me hehe... but I'm moving by the end of summer so I'll probably email you sometime in the next couple of weeks then hehe, yeay! :) Thanks

Where, I don't know, but the who? How 'bout a couple older folks, well, older than 35 anyway. Only once in a while, 'cause we might not be as stylish. I need inspiration. Love the blog, BTW.
ryssee, 40.

I'll look out for the over 35 crowd. I haven't been seeing many of them, but I'll keep searching. Let me know what it is that you're struggling with...I may be able to help.

Come to MIT! Yes, I know, not what most people would think of. We have some unique dressers though, especially on the east side of campus. You could try your luck ^__^

Hahaha, looking forward to your over 35 pics. Challenged by only ever wearing classic clothes but trying to add elements and trends that I never end up wearing (I'm not petite, I'm about a 12 with a generous chest but good chest-waist-hip ratio). Wanna see the mix of both. Anyway, great blog. keep up the great work and maybe show some of your own pics of you.

just came across your blog, its lovely. seeing familiar boston streets in a fashion blog makes my heart beat faster! about suburbs, try chelmsford or any of the surrounding towns (like lowell or concord) for some unique styles. another reason to come to chelmford? it's the home of G and W, your two newest fans! check us out :)

Clo and I were up in Portland ME a couple of weeks ago and (surprisingly?) that place was crawling with "uniquely dressed" people. The most entertaining were the hobo-looking twenty-ish kids. One was dressed like the Heath Ledger Joker, one had a mandolin... They were all interesting. I had to double check where the sun was setting to make sure I wasn't in Portland Oregon :)
