with that first girl, it goes to show you that all you need to be featured on this site is to wear every single trend in fashion right now. honestly, somewhere between the high-waisted shorts, the gladiator sandals, and lace tights this girl loses her personality. it's fun to try out trends, but dressing head to toe like an topshop groupie is not the way to do it.
I like trends. After all, without trends and trendy people, how would we characterize the style of the 20s, the 80s, or the 60s. Without trends, fashion would be a bit static.
When scouting for pictures, I choose people who are true to their proportions/silhouette, who have personality, who are comfortable with color (as is the case with Laura in the first picture), and who snub their nose at convention. Who is to say this is how Laura always dresses. The blog spotlights those with a quirky and a classic sense of style. This can translate into trendy, goth, prim etc. etc. I would encourage you to read previous months to get a broader scope of the blog.
